Frequently Asked Questions
The overall cost of the project is estimated to be $2.25 million–but a firm cost will not be known until bids are received. This figure includes ~$100,000 for design and engineering, plus $125,000 for a new utilities (sewer connection, reclaimed water connection, and impact fees), plus a target budget of $2 million for the building itself.
The church has been pre-approved for a loan of $2 million, and we are seeking to raise the remaining cost prior to the start of construction. As of October 2026 $93,000 has been raised plus an additional $16,500 has been pledged so far.

We are hoping to submit completed civil plans to Zoning Review in November 2026. We are planning to submit construction documents to the building department in late January 2027. We want to have bids by February 2027, and we would like to start site prep / tree removal in March 2027.
Our goal is to break ground in May 2027 and to have our Certificate of Occupancy by June 2028.
- For God to reveal all the details of the plans and for good cost effective decisions on design specifics
- For God’s favor with the county regarding all zoning and building review issues
- For the selection of the right builder and for competitive bid prices from all subcontractors and suppliers
- For God’s blessing & provision of funds so that we can begin site prep / tree removal in Spring 2027 & start the project soon after that
The are often tax advantages to gifting an appreciated asset such as stocks, cryptocurrency, property, etc directly to the church instead of converting the asset to cash and paying capital gains tax (talk to your financial advisor for specific advice). In light of this truth we’ve partnered with Engiven to expand the avenues through which people can contribute stocks and/or cryptocurrency to our congregation. This organization converts stocks and cryptocurrency to a cash gift that is mailed to the church. There is no cost to the donor and only a 4% charge to the church for this transaction (which might be a tax preferred way to give an appreciated asset).

Since the non-cash contribution is given first to a Donor Advised Fund, the legal, non-cash tax receipt to the donor will be issued by The Engiven Foundation detailing the asset (shares, crypto type, etc) at the time of transfer. In accordance with IRS regulations for non-cash gifts Engiven will only describe the donation and not determine the fair market value of your donation. Our church contribution software (Realm) will also recognizes the donor who provided the non-cash gift and it will show up in their giving history as well. But since it is a non cash donation the congregational giving statement will value this non-cash donation at $0.00 with a brief Memo recording the type of gift (e.g., “Acknowledgement of crypto conversion from Engiven”).
If you would like to make future giving simpler and stay in touch with our ministry you can set up a profile on REALM and you can also download the “Realm Connect” app on your smartphone. Click here for more information. Once you create a profile on Realm (email & password) you are in complete control. You can choose to make one-time gifts from time to time or recurring transactions. You can manage how often to give and how much to give. You can designate your gift to the building fund and/or split your gift among funds (i.e. general fund, missions, helping hand, etc.). Preferences can be changed anytime, but changes to recurring transactions must occur before noon at least two days ahead of the scheduled date.
