Building Project Update 5/1/18
We praise God for the progress on our building project during the first four months of 2018! In this 4 minute video we celebrate the efforts of church members and many volunteers working together, and we also want to express our appreciation to everyone who has prayed, given, and offerred encouragement along the way.
Can You Help Build A New Church In FL?
In the summer of 2017 we began construction on a 7,760 SF multipurpose building that will help us to point more people to Jesus. While the exterior shell, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work will be completed by professionals, we hope that savings from volunteer labor will help us to complete the project for a target budget between $700,000 - $800,000. Here is a brief video showing how 34 Carpenters For Christ volunteers helped us with interior from in October along with a request for other volunteer work crews to join our project this critical moment (January through March 2018).
Volunteer Work Crew Info
Who? We are looking for volunteer work crews of 4 to 8 people at a time.

Where? Teams could fly into Tampa airport or St. Pete / Clearwater airport. We would provide ground transportation (a Suburban) and RV lodging (4 people per trailer).
When? We will need the most help from November to March.
How long? Teams could sign up for one or more slots of around 7 days

If a group had a specific skill set we would seek to schedule them for a specific target date in advance. If a group had dates when they were available, we would let them know what type of help we might need.
Logistics / Food Preparation
As a church we would like to offer some hospitality to groups (i.e. midday meal) and seek donations from local businesses—but if groups can purchase some of their own supplies (breakfast items, snacks, gatorade, etc) and / or bring someone to help prepare meals or coffee breaks that is also appreciated. This year a small group of church members will be stretched to give sacrificially toward the building and to serve to the fullest extent of their abilities—so all help is welcome.
The completion of our project is dependent on God's provision of at least another $130,000 to get our certificate of occupancy. Looking for help on a project of this magnitude leaves us wondering how everything will come together. Yet we know that God is the builder of everything (Hebrews 3:4), and we are confident that He will meet our needs. If you would like to help us reach future generations of children, youth, and adults with the gospel message, we would be grateful for your financial support as well. You can make a gift online at www.ExploreGrace.com or mail a gift to "Grace Community" at 5450 Bruce B Downs Blvd #331 Wesley Chapel, FL 33544 (write "building fund" in the memo line). Thank you for your prayers and partnership.
October 2017 Update
We give thanks to God for enabling our congregation to begin construction on a 7,760 SF multipurpose building that will allow us to point more people to Jesus. Although the task has been bigger than anything we imagined, the Lord has done some amazing things during the past 5 years (land acquisition, design, site prep, and construction). This October we are celebrating the completion of the steel exterior, and we would like to provide a short video showing of our progress.
June 2017 Update
This summer we are taking another exciting step of faith, and on June 30th we are planning to break ground on a 7,760 SF multipurpose building! We have received over $100,000 which has allowed us to order the steel structure, and we have been approved for a loan up to $450,000. While the exterior shell, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work will be completed by professionals, we are inviting volunteer work crews to help us with a variety of tasks between November 2017 and February 2018. Our hope is to complete the project by the Spring of 2018 within a target budget of $700,000.
We are confident that God is preparing this next step, and we believe that we are being good stewards of the gifts God has given to us by using volunteer labor and locking in favorable prices. However, as we move forward with construction we are trusting God to provide another $150,000 that is needed. Looking for help on a building project leaves us wondering how everything will come together. Yet we know that “God is the builder of everything” (Hebrews 3:4) & He will meet our needs.
We anticipate that our new church home will help us to continue sharing the gospel and “Reaching Beyond Ourselves”in the rapidly growing community of Wesley Chapel, FL. If you have a heart for helping to establish new churches and you are able to partner with us, we would be grateful for your generous support. You can donate to our "Building Fund" at ExploreGrace.com or you can mail a check to “Grace Community” at 5450 Bruce B Downs Blvd #331 Wesley Chapel, FL 33544.
Help Us Reach Our Ground Breaking Goal
Our congregation is praying for God's provision of another $250,000 so that we can break ground on a 7,760 SF multipurpose building. We hope to purchase the steel structure, complete the underground plumbing, pour the foundation, and assemble the exterior shell of the building in cash. We have put down a $10,000 deposit with a steel building manufacturer, and we want to raise $90,000 by March 22nd so that we can order the building and take advantage of historically low commodity prices (which will likely rise due to proposals such as a US border wall, pipelines, etc). First Outdoor Service On The Property--Jan 8, 2017
In 2012 God put it on the heart of our congregation to seek His provision for a future church home and to do the good works that He has prepared in advance for us. We knew that this project would stretch us way beyond our resources, yet we asked God to do what we could not do ourselves. We were filled with great joy in 2014 when God provided the means to purchase a beautiful 20 acre property next to a 143 acre county park and near a future interstate exit. We were grateful for the ability to finish the master site plan, civil plans, and architectural plans in 2015, and we are thankful to everyone who has generously given their time, talent, and treasure to complete extensive site preparation work in 2016 (all on a cash basis).
On Sunday, January 8, 2017 we hosted the first outdoor service on our 3,024 square foot concrete court. We plan to use this place to host special outdoor services, recreational activities, and outreach events while we wait on God’s timing to start construction on the first phase of our church campus. We believe that building a church home in this strategic location will help future generations of adults, teens, and children to encounter God’s grace and to experience growth in faith.
In 2017 our church is praying that God will continue to do something "Beyond Ourselves" and provide the $250,000 we need to break ground on our first phase. With this amount we will be able to put put in underground plumbing, pour the foundation, raise the steel structure, and complete the shell of the building in cash. After the exterior work is finished various groups would be able to to do interior framing, drywall, doors, trim, flooring, and other aspects of the project on a volunteer basis. We are optimistic that savings from volunteer labor would allow us to finance less than half of the cost of this 7,760 sf multipurpose building.
Next Step Capital Campaign
In 2016 our church took a big step forward when we embarked upon the site preparation for our property, and the work was just recently completed with help from many volunteers! Now our congregation is taking another step of faith as we hope to reach our “Ground Breaking Goal” by raising another $250,000. We believe that God is preparing this exciting next chapter in the history of our congregation, and we are delighted to share our progress and plans. If you would like to make a special contribution at this time, we would be grateful for your generous support. Thank you for your prayers and your partnership in this ministry.
Site Preparation Is Underway!
In May 2016 we began site preparation work on the church property. We are working to complete a retention pond, storm water system, underground utilities, fire hydrants, a building pad, and an outdoor concrete court. When the site preparation work is complete we will be able to host outreach events and special services on the property even as we wait for God's provision of funds to begin work on a 7,760 SF multipurpose church building. We also had a generous offer to match up to the first $25,000 given toward the site preparation by May 15th, and by God's grace we met our goal. Thank you for your prayers and support!
Beyond Ourselves Information
The construction of the first phase of our main church campus is a critical juncture for the long term growth of our ministry. We continue to look to God for His provision as He prepares this exciting new chapter in the history of our congregation. Although the task of raising another $500,000 seems daunting, we know that God can do more than we ask or imagine.
Our proposed 7,760 ft2 multipurpose building features the design of a large cross in the middle of a glass entryway that will lead into the main gathering area. We are eager to begin construction as God provides the funds, and we are praying that a permanent facility will help us to share the forgiveness, healing, hope, and eternal life found through faith in Jesus.
The theme of our project is “Beyond Ourselves”, and in order to share our vision as widely as possible we would invite you to read our Beyond Ourselves brochure. In this document you will learn about the following information related to our capital fund drive…
• Building plans and details on how a new facility will enhance our ministry
• Our chance to build at a reduced cost using a licensed contractor on a volunteer basis
• The tremendous growth taking place in the Wesley Chapel area
• Encouragement we received from a veteran pastor on the time it takes build a healthy, multigenerational congregation from scratch and why building is a key next step
Please pray for this effort and for our congregation as we bring the gospel of Jesus to the community of Wesley Chapel, FL and beyond. If you are able to partner with us in this exciting project, we would be grateful for your generous support. After reading about our project, please take a moment to consider if anyone else you know might be open to this call and feel free to pass the information along.
